Hockey! Fight Fight!
We try to find fun things to do as a family all the time, but with an age gap between the "big" kids and Alex, sometimes it's a gamble. Brett decided to get hockey tickets for the whole family, and we went last night - it was so much fun for everyone!

Once we got inside and settled into our seats, I could tell that this was going to be a great time!
Here are dad and Alex smiling for the camera. This was his very first game!
McKaleigh and Colton - as you can see, by the cane, I still needed some assistance getting to the game! But my ankle is healing.
McKaleigh looking concerned about a call against our team. She says that after this game, she can see why everyone "boo's" the refs!
The crowning moment of any hockey game...the kids wait all game long for a good fight - which is inevitable. You can see McKaleigh yelling "fight fight" and Colton taking in the hits. The kids were really sad because when they went to get drinks and popcorn with dad there was a huge fight right in front of us...and we were only 4 rows from the glass! Oh well, better luck next time.
Silly Alex!
McKaleigh and Colton went down to pose with the bear...Alex was too afraid of him, and kept a good eye on where he was the whole game.
Alex watching the big kids get their picture with the Bear...He was not so sure about it!
We had a great time as a family and look forward to more sports like outings!

Getting Older or Wiser?
So, three weeks ago, while running around getting ready for a Primary activity, I fell down some stairs. Brett would chalk it up to carelessness, and maybe that's the case. I would say it was just a miscalculation of the stairs. Either way, I was down for the count for a day, and hobbled around for another day or two.
Yesterday, I was standing on a bar stool trying to hang a picture when I stepped down and twisted the same ankle! Are you kidding?! Again? This time, as I was rolling on the floor, crying in pain, I knew something more hurt, and after a visit to the ER and an ankle brace later - I am doing O.K. Am I really that clumsy? Or was I just looking for some extra pampering?:) I guess we will never know, but a few days worth of good meals, rests, and No ERRANDS later I feel like a new woman! Thanks to all of those who have helped me heal!

Bowling
Grandma Deb wanted to do something fun with the kids over MLK weekend, so she decided that she would take everyone bowling, get pizza for lunch, and then rent an afternoon movie. Wow, what a full day. We split into two team at the alley, and here is team 1.
Team 2 consisted of the little boys - who did a really great job of staying in line and taking their turns bowling. In between turns, they would run over to the arcade and pretend to play the games and rides.
We had 2 really great cheerleaders in Grandma and little Lilly.
Cousin Sam was one focused bowler!
Our cute Alex getting ready to send his ball down the ramp!
What a busy afternoon! I know that all of the kids had a great time, all thanks to Grandma!

4 Dollars
So this morning as we were laying in bed discussing our MKL Holiday ideas, and Alex climbs up onto Brett and says, "dad, I need monies." Brett and I started to giggle, and he asks Alex, "why do you need monies Alex?" Alex then proceeds to say, "dad, I need 4 dollars." By this time I was really laughing, as he held up 3 fingers on one hand and 1 finger on the other and just said, "I need 4 dollars." Brett continued to ask him what it was for, and with a sigh, he simply said, "I need to put it in my piggy bank, and walked out."
It was such a cute exchange between the two, but does this mean trouble in our future...when our 2 year old is asking for monies?

Potty Training
This is where I am at in my life now...endless minutes, all adding up to hours spent in our bathroom with character panties (underwear-they do not make a boys style Dora), a treat jars, and lots and lots of waiting, cheering, and washing machine loads! Its funny, but with 3 children, Alex is my first go round with this event. McKaleigh potty trained herself, and Colton was in daycare and they took care of that there...so this is all a new experience for me!
We are working on day 2 and let me tell you, I am ready to enroll Alex in a few weeks of Daycare! Wish me luck!

Peter - The Frog
So- Brett came home from work the other day with his hands full - you know, the usual holiday cookies, cards or candy...but today he had a cute little box. He quickly gathered the kids and said that his co-worker had given him a special Christmas gift...now, i'm thinking...what could this be? And as he unwrapped the box...he produced this small tank with 2 small African type frogs (which he promised to be low maintenance). Apparently this co-worker ordered 20 of these for friends in the office - maybe I should have conveyed my desire for a puppy to her.
When Brett asked the kids what we should name them Alex blurted out "Peter." So it is...we have 2 frogs named "Peter." I don't even know why that name came into his little head, but this is where you will find him most mornings, eating breakfast and talking to Peter the Frog.
