We've been running around like...chicken's with their heads cut off lately, and it's no joke. I've snapped a few pictures here and there, saving them for a great blog post, but it just doesn't look like that's going to happen, so here it is...Most of what's been going in the last little bit.
I decided that I didn't have enough garden space here...so I kindly asked Brett to build me some more space
Over here...and I promptly filled that all up too!
McKaleigh qualified to go to National's with a few other kids from her Debate Team. She qualified last year, as well, but we were not ready to let her go. She is traveling to Florida to compete on a national level. Here she is trying to get everything packed and ready to go...
It dumped snow for about one day in April, so Alex and I took advantage it and....
Built this guy. I think he lasted about a day.
Tennis lessons just started for Colton, which is a good thing, because he can usually be found on the couch with his phone playing games. It looks about like this...
Alex turned 8 this year. He had a great big friend party and this is the crew I got to hang with for the day!
My man's got some real skills!
He's good for the sprint, but definitely won't make the marathon!
We took advantage of the Payson Temple open house and even talked dear old dad into joining us for the adventure...
After the open house we discovered a little Mexican place - you know, the hole in the wall kind of places most people love...with the most amazing salsa. We went home with a quart of it!
I'd been wanting to hike Ensign Peak - its VERY short, about 30 minutes - and picked a Sunday afternoon to go with the family. The weather looked a bit sketchy, but we trudged on. The wind at the top was really bad (as you can see), and it started to rain. I would have like to spend some time reading over the plaques and such, but we hurried down before the storm rolled in. I guess that means we'll have to do it again!
A very soggy, cold (like I borrowed a strangers coat - he wasn't wearing it) day long concert in SLC.
End of the year poetry concert for the 2nd grade. Here is Alex's poem and picture.
Other News (without pictures)...
Dad: Is working as a project manager at IHG, just got roped into coaching Alex's competitive soccer team for Murray Max soccer - 64 games and tourney's this year (fasten your soccer seat belt)! Is also playing on a softball team, researching trailers for next year (our purchase instead of a home improvement project)- so we can travel all over, while we still have all 3 kiddos home (and because mommy is done sleeping on the ground). Busy all of the time, but we make a good team.
Mom: Just got a new job in the school district working specifically with the ESL/ELL kids. This will be an adventure! Is the new Wolves Den leader, and Assistant Girls camp director, and hoping to be released from R.S. really soon! Loves working on the new "farmland" in the backyard and checks plant growth daily. Loves having the kids help her in the yard (but they don't love it so much), and is ready for lots of trips this summer (Zion, Mexico, Yellowstone).
McKaleigh: Finishing her Junior Year, and has been getting ton's of flyers from all sorts of colleges. She will probably stay in state. She is planning on going on a mission, and keeping up with her French (a gal can hope)! She stay's busy with debate and school and is still working at the Bakery. When she is not busy with those things, she is out with friends, reading a book or indulging with some sort of movie marathon.
Colton: Has a pretty chill life. He can usually be found watching videos or playing games on his phone. However, he is required to spend time working on scouts (since he rarely has homework) or Duty to God. He is playing tennis on Murray City's tennis team and hopes to tryout for the high school team next year.
Alex: Spends lots of time kicking a ball around the house and playing soccer. He will be playing on a competitive team this year and Brett will be coaching. Soccer is his true love. He has a jersey for every day of the week and would rotate them if I let him. Outside of soccer, he loves having friends over and staying busy!
Till next time...
