We Love Family

We all got together for dinner at Uncle Eric and Aunt Katie's house this weekend. We had a great time, and while the girls were getting ready for the feast here is what was going on inside and out.
Alex was getting a ride from cousin Elliot. They played so well together, which was a relief because they will be spending a week together at Grandma's for Christmas. They went up and down the stairs, in and out of the little cars and wagons and then the daddy's took them for a long walk. What more could you ask for?

McKaleigh and Cousin Mallory were content enjoying a movie together. What ever they were watching must have been good (Lilo and Stitch) because we did not see Mallory until the movie was over...which is rare!

Here are the boys, enjoying a game of soccer in the front yard, and the beautiful Fall day! Perfect weather for the U to beat BYU, and we got home just in time! Thanks for a great afternoon Uncle Eric and Aunt Katie!

Wheeler Historic Farm

The kids were off from school last week, and we had decided that it would be fun to all go out to Wheeler Farm. It was a really fun (and dirty) adventure for all of us! The kids really enjoy the animals and all of the wooden tree/club houses that they can explore and Alex REALLY love those sheepies. He is so great at speaking their language (BAAAAA).
You might notice that Alex has his hands full of hay. That is just in case we came upon some more sheep. He was very prepared. He would not put the hay down the entire time we were
there.

Alex and daddy, just finishing up feeding the sheep. He was really a brave little guy! We were lucky he came home with all of his fingers!
The big kids really liked the shetland ponies, piggies, and little donkeys.
Here are the kids trapped in one of the little playhouses. The have mulit level playhouses, and Alex thought he was so big going up there!

Mommy and Daddy even found a few quiet minutes!
Here we are at the end of the day, and he is still looking fore someone to feed!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween Night was a very successful evening for the Cushings. We had quite alot of candy from a previous party, but went out for more. It was so fun to watch Alex follow the big kids. He was really usure the first few doors we went to, but let's just say...the kid is no dummy, and by the end of the night his bag was just as full as McKaleigh and Colton's. After crusing through the neighborhood in our wagon, Colton decided to man the front door, and I took McKaleigh out with a friend for more treats. It was a fun evening!

Pumpking Carving

Every year, come rain or shine, Brett makes sure to take a night out for pumpkin carving. It is a much anticipated evening for the kids, and every year our pumpkins get better! I think that they forget how grossed out they are by cleaning out the insides of the pumpkin, but they do have all kinds of ideas of what we can do with the goo. See one of the ideas below...
We thought we would see if Alex would do a taste test for us. He really liked chewing on the raw pumpkin seeds. but the insides were a little much for him.

Here are the finished products. The kids were so proud of their pumpkins!

Cushing Side Strip - A Beautiful Sight

The neighbors must think that I am either crazy or putting our house up for sale! I keep
going out front and taking pictures of our newly landscaped sidestrip...which I absolutely
love. There is something to say for completing a big project. I think that the kids also see
the joy in helping to complete something so large!

I have finally loaded a few pictures of what our side yard looks like. It was ALOT of work, but worth it.
