Adventures in Midway, Utah

I am happy to report that we experience our first day of new adventures in 2014.  We were all lucky enough to have MLK off, so we decided to head up to Deer Valley for some wonderful sledding and then over to a new Mexican place in Midway, Utah before visiting the famous Ice Castles there.  After driving all over looking for the "perfect" sledding hill for the family, we finally found one, and although it required quite a hike up through soft powder to get there, it was worth it.  We all went sledding and had some really great runs and some really great crashes...it is so rare that we all get to go sledding together (usually it is just me and the boys, while dad is at work and McKaleigh is at school/or studying), so it was extra special for us to all be together.  After sledding we visited a new place for lunch, that was fantastic...Tarahumara in Midway - if you are up there, give it a try!  Then we headed over to see the famous Ice Castles - Thanks to the movie Frozen, there were all kinds of Disney Princesses roaming around to take pictures with, and an Olaf ice sculpture.  It was amazing and very beautiful...our pictures don't do it justice, but we all had such a wonderful day!  Here's to the first of many to come!

Well, Christmas has come and gone, NewYears - come and gone...and we are happy to report that all is well in 2014.

Here are some of the highlights of the last month (I may or may not post pictures of these events).  We had some family pictures taken, we lots of time with family and had some really fun times (Bowling, game nights, The Nutcracker Ballet, presents, and plenty of meals), we saw some Grizzlies Hockey, taught Alex how to roller skate (kind of), mini golfed, saw movies, went shooting, to Nickelmania, agonized of goals not quite met in 2013 and goals to be made in 2014 and in general had some really quality family time!

Now that we are headed into a new year, there are lots of exciting things to look forward to...New bathroom remodels, sporting and debate events, an anniversary getaway to Coachella, a family vacation in St. George, a trip with friends to Palisades, park days, swim days, tennis, the end of the school year, bike rides, 5 K's and lots of other fun events and goals to meet.  I am officially dubbing this year a "year of firsts," I want our family to experience new adventures and try out new and exciting things that come our way...I think it's safe to say that we are excited to see what 2014 brings for the Cushings!
