Our Buddy is 3

It's hard to believe that our little buddy is 3 now. He just seems to have grown up over night - even he thinks so, because when we went to the library the other day he went right up to one of the other little kids there and said " do you want to play with me buddy? I'm big, I'm 3!" It was so cute - him knowing that 3 is much bigger than 2.

Alex had a wonderful birthday week - and I mean week long celebration. Every day it seemed like there was something going on to do with his birthday. Here are the pics from those days.

What a happy kiddo!
No request for cake from this kid, he wanted a birthday Ice cream sandwich!
Everyone watching the birthday boy open his gifts
Thanking Grandpa with a big hug!
As crazy as it sounds, Alex wanted his very own pineapple for his birthday. Whenever anyone asked what he wanted for his birthday he always said "a pineapple, cars, guns and dinos." Grandma Nan came through!A big hug!
Posing with all of his loot!
One of Alex's favorite gifts was a plastic food set. He loves making "recipes" for everyone in the family. We may have a future chef here!

Dad's Bike Race

We have all been trying to commit to a more healthy and active lifestyle in our family this year. Many of our 2010 goals are linked to exercise and fitness. In addition to losing about 80 pounds last year, Brett has been biking all over the place and for Christmas bought new bikes for the whole family. I think it is a hobby that he really has enjoyed and it is one that we can all enjoy together.

Well, this past weekend he entered his first race and in addition to making great time, really enjoyed it. I can see spandex and mesh shirts in his future! I am really proud of him and can see many family races coming up in our future! Way to go dad!

In addition to dad's biking, the kids and I are getting ready for a family 5K! And then once again I have signed up to take on another half marathon. With a recently sprained ankle, we shall see how it goes. There is more love and support this year with many more family members joining in - Good luck to me!
