We've been watching some of this and this and that...

Spring and early Summer are our sporty seasons.  It is a time when we are running here and there.  Dropping this kid and that one at different events - all over the place.  It gets kind of crazy when schedules overlap, but thats when we scramble, and I have to say, we are pretty good at that!

McKaleigh has been playing in back to back volleyball leagues all over the valley since last fall.  She is also going to play volleyball outdoors this summer.  She really loves it.  When we go to the park to play soccer or take a walk or whatever, she brings her ball along and practices.
Alex LOVES soccer. He was lucky enough to be on a team with, pretty much our entire neighborhood this past spring.  He did really well and enjoys being silly with his buddies, guarding the goal and snapping his fingers out on the field.  Sometimes we have to get after him, because there is more silliness and snapping than playing going on!

We are on our way into coach pitch baseball in the next few weeks. He was unsure if he wanted to play and we convinced him to give it a try for a season.  We shall see...

The cheering section at Colton's games.  I am usually pretty intense - watching what is going on, McKaleigh usually goes through her phone (texting, Pinterest, Facebook) and Alex is happy with a ring pop (and it usually lasts the whole game).

Colton is playing majors this year and is really enjoying it.  He ususally gets a hit off every time he is up to bat - which makes the game more fun.  His team is undefeated!  He is usually second base, a position that he is really good at and has gotten use to playing.
 Stealing third!
I love it that our kids enjoy these activities.  It makes the seasons rush by and we  have so many good memories at the sports fields!

Mexico

My dear sweet mother in law decided that the women in the Cushing family needed a vacation.  Its not that we are busy or anything...but when we are all together, it's all about the kiddos and we never really get a chance to speak with each other about anything deeper than the daily grind.

So, she took us all away for an all expenses paid Mexican Cruise.  LUCKY?!,  Tell me about it! We had such a great time and got some great one on one time to spend time getting to know each other so much better.  I have a new understanding and appreciation for my mother in law and both of my sisters in law.

Here is a shot of my mother in law and I getting ready to board the plane...
and of course the necessities, lots and lots of magazines!
Getting to the cruise port was a breeze, a short flight to Long Beach and Verity right there to meet us and head over to the boat.  We are SO very excited!
One of many nights where we spent time listening to music, comedy, and shows on the cruise boat.  There was never a dull moment - we were always on the go.
Many of our meals were spent at the buffet - except for dinner, it was just an easy way to grab and go, with tons of choices and all you can eat.  You can't really go wrong there!  We tried so many different and exotic foods, but I have to say that the duck was the absolute WORST!
We spent lots of time talking about who was going to get off of the boat and explore Mexico and who was not.  Heather and I had decided that we were going on the adventure - and heading into the great unknown.  Deb and Verity, with a little persuasion, came along for the ride, and I think they were glad.  After a bumpy ride on an old bus, we made it to the "blowhole" attraction, great bargain shopping, some pushy venders, dancing and beautiful countryside!
I have to say that it was very cold while we were on the boat and in Mexico, but there was one day that we decided to lay out, read, and chat.  It was wonderful.

Here we are in our old lady hats!
The last night in our formal clothes.  The time went by so quickly and we had such a great time.  I know that I feel so much closer to these wonderful women and count myself lucky to have had this experience with them.  On to the next one, right!
