Visiting Cousins

We really don't get to visit our cousins Mallory and Elliot very often, even though they live in Provo, Ut. The little boys had a good time palling around together. They were even dressed in the same outfit the day we got them together.

These boys really love their Grandpa!

The kids really enjoyed sitting by the Fireplace at our house! Mallory kept it going with her fire breathing breath, Elliot kept saying it was "hot, hot" and Alex was trying to climb in! I see trouble in all of our futures with this trio! Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Walt came down to Utah to watch cousin's Mallory and Elliott while Uncle Eric and Aunt Katie were in Hawaii. The little boys had a great time, while I think Mallory put up with them. She better watch out, in the coming years they might gang up on her!

Alex's First (and maybe his last) Duck Feeding

We decided to take Alex to feed the ducks and geese at Sugarhouse Park, and as many of you are aware, they can be quite aggressive! Brett kept telling me to keep Alex back, but I was sure that I was doing a great job of letting him get up close and personal, when a very large goose came up and bit him on the finger. We are hoping that this has not scarred him for life!

Aunt Katie knows all about this!

Utah's Hogle Zoo

For Brett's Work Summer Party this year we went to the Zoo. It was great because they closed the Zoo in the afternoon and it was open for just employees and their families! That meant all the free train and carousel rides we could get in. It was Alex's first visit to the Zoo, and the kids really enjoyed showing him all of the animals - though what he really liked was playing in the park area. He did not show too much excitement for the rides, but did really enjoy going through the gift shop (his mother's boy)! McKaleigh had been saving her money all Summer for this excursion and was able to to have a whopping $32.00 to spend at the Zoo - needless to say, we had to weigh all of the gift shop options carefully (we found that it's much harder to choose something with your own money that with dad's).

Our Work Crew

As some of you know, we have taken on quite a few projects at our home. We all worked very hard stripping and staining the deck - it literally took all Summer! Though, we have found it was well worth it, and have been enjoying our dinners outside. Our latest project has taken us out to the side park strip. We have cleared the grass out and leveled it for a river rock bed and a few trees. Brett and I priced trees at nurseries all over the valley and were looking at around $1100.00 for delivery, planting and price of the trees...but, thanks to Murray City, we found that they would do all of that for only $120.00 - What a savings! The kids were a great help, and even Alex enjoyed being outside digging the the dirt.
