Prom...

McKaleigh is a pretty resourceful gal...and had determined that if she was not asked to Prom, she was going to have a really fun girls night out with some of her friends...However, that night never came to be, because she went to PROM!
The boy that asked her out, Jett Jones, was such a nice boy (polite, complimentary, fun and a good friend).  Here are some shots of the day - and by day I mean...It started at 9:30 a.m. and went all the way through till 2:00 a.m....

One night...Way past the time when we shut down our little house and turn off all of the lights and crawl into bed and watch shows, Brett and I heard a pounding on the front door. Roxy started barking, I dashed to the office to look out the window (and saw no one) and Brett ran to the safe and grabbed the gun.  He met me at the front door, gun ready behind his back...and as we cautiously opened the door this is what we saw...A minion prom invite!
The day began at 9:30 a.m. with the "day date".  Its a crazy involved process with the kids going from morning till night!

Here they are getting ready to go to breakfast, followed by go carting, laser tag, mini golf and lunch...
A few weeks ago, we did a trial run with my hair dresser, to see what style McKaleigh wanted to go with for her dress.  We settled on a style and knew that it took about an hour, plus drive time to do.  Well, we are lucky we had a backup plan with the Kjar girls coming to the rescue, because the day date went well into the day and there was no way we'd make it to the salon.  Addie did her hair and makeup, and she looked beautiful!
Here she is pinning the boutineer on Jett...
a high five and applause after a successful first try!
 Posing in the Front yard

The group of kids that they went with.  Such an amazing bunch!
They had the dance up at the Capitol, and we were to arrive for a promenade down the capital steps where the guy gives the girl a rose and then they walk down the steps together.
Then, they reserve the first dance of the night for the dads and moms to dance with their child.
It was an exciting night filled with firsts, fun and friends.  We are so proud of the young women that McKaleigh is becoming and wish for many more fun filled nights in the future!
