McKaleigh - is SO busy! She is taking almost all AP and Honors classes, and in addition to those, she has enrolled in electronic high school, and is taking two classes there. She is also on the debate team with meetings/mock debates multiple nights a week and has joined the French club. I think she is thinking about running for some kind of office in the French club. She is really excited for a debate competition down in St. George that she gets to travel down for and has at least one competition every month. Needless to say, she is staying pretty busy with her school activities. She is working on her YW ribbons and hanging out with friends quite a bit. She has been enjoying going to Murray afterschool activities (football games, seminary dances etc...), and I think over all she would say that life is good.
Colton - Is over at the junior high and loves school. Math is his favorite subject, and I don't think that will ever change. He is taking honors math and honors english, and I think we were all shocked that he took choir. He has been playing alot of tennis, and is excited for basketball and baseball season begin. I see him quite frequently lifting weights in his spare time, and he has asked for a pull up bar...future weight lifter? Colton has become quite a reader and is working on his reading merit badge for scouts. He is doing really well with his merit badges(since we made it an afterschool requirement) and loves scouting. He is having lots of fun with his YM group, and occasionally joins a group of youth that go to do baptisms on Wednesdays. He is really lucky to have such great friends.
Alex - Began 1st grade (all day school) this year, and loves it. I can tell that the days are a little long, but he has made lots of new friends and has lots of friends from last year. He still likes to play boys vs girls ( boys chasing girls) and has lots of playdates. Alex says that he likes math also, and is always doing something with numbers in his head. He is a sporty kid who does it all - depending on the season (tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball), he is willing to give it a try. I constantly worry about a hit to his head (which I believe will always be fragile in my mind) and still see him as my little boy. Alex loves to play with his siblings, ride his bike and has gone on some really long rides with his dad, and will go walking with mom or just sit out on the porch for a chat. He's easy like that.
Dad - Work is keeping him as busy as ever. We count our lucky stars if we are able to sit down with him for dinner. However, even with his work load, he is never to busy to take McKaleigh to a football game, Colton out for a tennis match, ride bikes or build legos with Alex or take mommy on a date or just go for a walk around the neighborhood. He is still amazing, rides his bike to work quite a bit, and his habits have put us all to shame, if we could be that good we would be in AMAZING shape! He still enjoys a monthly concert date, watching shows in bed at night and an occasional Hershey's Kiss (not the whole bag). I think he is the best husband and father EVER!
Mom - Is getting nervous and excited about going back to work. I start back at the end of September and will work 830-230 Mon - Fri...That's more than i've had to get dressed up for in a long while, but I think I am ready. I have been enjoying my free time though, with 6 miles walks multiple days a week, sewing projects, new dinner ideas and home organization. I dare say that I won't be able to work on those kinds of projects as often once my new schedule begins. I have been teaching RS, and enjoy the prep work, but am still really anxious on the Sunday's I teach...but its a stretch of my comfort zone, and that's good. I am constantly working to be more patient, and enjoy life as it is, not as I think it should be. Some days I am successful, and some days not so much. I love my life, its full of love, joy, crazy, and calm and I guess that is as it should be.
