Just A Post

No pics, as one of our computers is down, (but they will be coming) just a post. 

As the Cushing household moves into Spring our live feel pretty hectic - and it becomes very apparent that we need Summer to hurry up and get here!  Today I am just going to jot down the going's on here at the homestead with each of us. (an update for our blog books).

Dad is REALLY busy with work - he has some trips coming up, and when he is not heading into work at 5 a.m., then he is coming home late.  He is such a trooper though - even after a full day at work, he is still available for consults with me about stuff going on here, baseball or soccer or walks to the park, fort building downstairs with the boys or general gameplaying.  I don't know where he finds the energy (and patience), but he does and he is so good at it!  I really got lucky in the husband department! He is such a source of calm, love and optimism.

McKaleigh is keeping herself busy with texting and on Facebook or just doing whatever on her Nook Tablet (the best Christmas gift ever).  She is no longer in karate and is trying out some new things (Classes at the rec, long walks, videos).  She is hoping to take tennis lessons this Summer, but I am not sure where we will fit that in.  June is a Girls Camp and Youth Conference and her birthday trip to see Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas, July is another girls camp, and in August we are going to Oregon.  She is also trying to decide if she wants to take a summer school class to graduate early or make room for "fun" classes in her HS schedule.  I can't believe that she is at that point, already getting ready for High School!

Colton is such an easy kid. Everyday he just does what needs to be done and then plays basketball or rides his ripstick outside.  Baseball season and scouting activities keep him pretty busy though.  He was offered entry into a special advanced program at another school, but declined in favor of staying at his current school with neighborhood friends, (he has a really great group of friends).  I know he is NOT waiting for Summer, because he would rather just go to school - he loves it - the learning and doing and having some structure.

Alex really keeps us on out toes - this year he has attended a preschool that is REALLY far from home.  For those two days a week I have been trying to get my homework in at the local library while he is at school.  He makes friends really easily and LOVES the girls.  Everywhere we go, the park, school, church - he always comes away with a crush on some little girl he can't wait to see again.  He loves learning and is always asking me what this or that means or how it works (I can answer truthfully about half of the time - the rest of the time I tell him we will have to ask dad or look it up).  He is currently in swimming and soccer and we will be heading into tee ball season with some of his neighborhood friends soon. 

Me, well, life is just as it sounds - you know how it goes...but I am getting along just fine.  I have been knocking down my BYU classes, and am doing pretty well.  Watching kids here and there, running errands, cleaning, cooking, the usual.  I just feel so lucky to have such a great support system of friends and family around to help me get through it all. I am truly blessed!
